Hi! I'm Laura

Here's a little about me…

I started to dabble in quilting back in 2000 when I got together with my hubby. I instantly fell in love with quilting and started taking classes. In 2018 I decided to take my passion and share it with others and I started offering classes of my own. Shortly after that in 2019 I invested in my own long arm quilting machine and so begun Farm Girl Quilting!

My Passion

My husband and I own and operate a dairy farm in Rural North Durham Region!  We have 3 wonderful kids who inspire us every single day. I am also a volunteer with Durham West 4-H club.

My passion for quilting has grown over the years and now I love to share my knowledge of quilting with others. My passion was to always have a space of my own where I could teach and hold sew days. This has now become a reality and I am so excited to share my space with all of my fellow quilters – heritage and aspiring :)

My Goals

In 2021 I started to outgrow my current spot where my long arm machine was, so my most recent goal has been to build a custom studio which I achieved at the end of November 2022! I cannot wait to share this space with all of you!
